14th March - Patrick O'Connell Evening

Columba Club, 8 John St, Coatbridge

7:30 pm

Tickets: £4.00

Showing for the first time in Scotland, Don Patricio provides a cinematic account of the remarkable story of Dublin-born footballer Patrick O’Connell who played with Belfast Celtic and Manchester United, and who, as manager, led Real Betis to its first La Liga title. Critically, he is the man credited with saving FC Barcelona from bankruptcy.

Despite these successes, he died destitute in London in 1959.  Watch this fabulous story unfold which will be followed by a Q&A session from a select panel of football dignitaries, including ex-Celtic players.
